How much would a wedding cost with all the luxury trimmings
and how much do they cost on a budget?
i just mean like what price region do people spend?

If you want to keep the price down, there are so many things that you and your friends can do to create a luxury wedding at a very low cost. Creativity is the key.

Buy a beautiful ballgown instead of a wedding dress. They are identical, in many cases, except the dresses labeled "bridal" are twice as much (at least!! : o) Buy or rent tall thin glass vases and mound only baby’s breath in them. It is simple, chic, stunning, and very inexpensive. Decorate your cake with a tumbling cascade of real flowers vs. fancy icing for much less $$. Print off your own place cards in a fancy type face using your computer. There are tons of ways to save money!! ; )

btw, I have attended very expensive weddings that were tacky and boring and very inexpensive weddings that were luxurious and trendy.

There is no such thing as an "average" wedding. A wedding can cost as much or as little as you want. There are so many factors that go into the cost of a wedding and so many options, that every wedding is different and so is the price tag.

My friend got married at the courthouse and got a few kegs…probably spent a few hundred dollars after the end of it all. I have heard of others spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a wedding…so how do you average that?

The average cost of a wedding is about $28,000. This can obviously go to either extream, high or low.

    i got married for $20.
    my sisters was about $10,000.
    my daughters was about $20,000.
and i’ve seen a lot more that cost more. it depends on how much you want to do yourself and how much you hire out. if you live on a budget or have unlimited funds.
i would have rather that they spent less on the wedding and saved the money for living on.

28.000!!!! OMG!!! i cannot see paying that much, there are ways to cut corners and depends on how elaborate you want your wedding, i had a big wedding in a church spent around 6,000 for everything i prefer next time something simple outdoors i would rather spend the money honeymooning or on the reception! good luck

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Also on how many people are invited! You should be more specific. Which "average" are you talking about?
I remember the cost of mine 10 years ago (expensive in my country!)
Music: we couldn´t afford a band,so just a man putting discs was 500 Euros
Lunch (not a luxurious restaurant) 90 Euros per head
Dress and his suit: they were second hand,so about 700 Euros (both)
Honeymoon: the cheapest we could find was Prague,8 nights about 900 Euros all included for the both of us.
And that was 10 years ago.
    But as I said,all depends!

My m8’s wedding cost him £1,000 & it was low key, but i have read recently of someone doing their wedding cheaply total price was £790.
Then you get a more costly wedding like my sisters which cost £9,980. But i know prices can be higher than hers too.
It really does depend on your budget

A nice budget wedding can be done for about £4000 including dress catering cars cake and bridesmaids,if you have friends that can help you’ll do it with change.

I did my daughters for £3000 just over 4 years ago and gave her the balance towards her first house, far better than wasting cash for one day of glory.

Mine was about $10,000 and it was everything that I wanted. In a mansion on a golf course, beautiful dress, string quartet, dj, open bar..I saved on things that i didn’t really need like photographer (my uncle does photography so he did ours), we didn’t need limos or anything since the wedding and reception were in the same place, and we made sure the guest list didn’t go over 100 people. So even if you are on a budget if you splurge on some things, and save on things that you can do without you will still be able to have the wedding that you want.

The wedding cost whatever the couple spends on it. People have had weddings for $1000-$50,000 (OR more even)…People forget though, it’s not entirely about the wedding, but SHOULD be about the major commitment you are making to yourself and to your spouse. Weddings that cost $10,000+ mean nothing when you’re divorced in a couple of years.

Focus on the marriage, not so much on the wedding. jmho

I recentlly found out the national US average is $28,000. So I am going to guesstimate that a wedding with all of the luxury trimmings will cost about $40,000+ On a budget, I am guesstimating around $35,000.

    good luck to you. 🙂

We are spending 30k, New England.

This includes honeymoon, rings, rehearsal dinner, reception, food, liquour, photography, dress, cake, lodging, transportation…. everything! so I guess is not that bad.

For this area, that’s considered cheap. In NE I’ve seen couples spending 50k and up, just last year we attended a wedding that cost 140k!!!!

    Good luck

I live in the chicago area and and a nice wedding has to include an open bar, its a must!! Not beer/wine and *gasp* never a cash bar. My wedding was on track to be about 35,000 with 220 people. I went to a wedding in central Illinois and the atmosphere was much different than in Chicago, more relaxed and not as fancy. Mine had open bar, nice lines, choice menu (you get to pick at your seat as opposed to on the invitation), appetizers etc. The other one had buffet style, wine and beer with plastic utensils and gardetto bags to munch on.

Point of all this is wedding styles really differ by region, I think bigger cities have bigger wedding (in terms of cost and show)

A wedding costs whatever you are willing to spend on it. Think of a number and double it and you`ll probably be somewhere near. My wedding and honeymoon will cost just short of £5K, its what we want and we have done a lot of it ourselves to keep the costs down.
