For a young couple getting married with not much financial help from family how much would a wedding cost? At the least?

It depends what you have in mind, and what things you are willing to do yourself. Dinner is the biggest cost. If you can find ways around that, just a cake reception, or only very close family invited to the dinner, a buffet bc they are a bit cheaper. If your able to talk prices down thats also a plus. Most times people are willing to go down. Instead of ordering things at a chain store, shop at independantly owned ones, they are more willing to help you out.

it all depends really. my fiance and i are on a really tight budget too cause i am out of work right now on disability but somehow we are managing to put it all together for around 3000. which if actually really good considering i invited 200 people. but we are having the ceremony on the beach and a backyard reception. plus everyone in the bridal party is cooking something so we are only responsble for the tent, the price of food (we are getting some side dishes catered), the d.j., the liquor and a few more items. listen even though i dont know you if you need any ideas i will try to help. just send me an email.

im doing all this right now and we are getting married in a few weeks (9-15-09).

this will save you money too. we are getting a wedding cake for show and i ordered 2 full sheet cakes from sams club to give to the guests. sheets cakes only cost around 35. and a wedding cake can cost ALOT!!!! so we are keeping the wedding cake on the buffet table and hiding the sheet cake so no one can see it.

I didn’t have much help from anyone..my hubby and I saved up on tax return money…ours was about $8,000 for 100 guest. It really depends on where you are and what you plan to do…I’m from NY. Instead of having a sit down dinner like most weddings..we had it buffet style..which turned out great. Good Luck.
