I have 175 invites to my wedding, how much does the average wedding cost in total? im not interested in those people who spent $100 and eloped or just went cheap as heck haha, i know your out there! im talking about a classy nice, not over the top, average wedding. thanks

My wedding is costing my fiance’ and I $21,000. We are having a Saturday wedding (Oct 17 of this year) It’s about $18 a plate for a buffet and we have 350 guests, photographer is about $1600. Our cake and a sheet cake to go with it was $735, my dress was $700, the tux was free with the groomsman’s tuxes, the bridesmaids dresses were $160 but they paid for them, I got all my bridesmaids gifts which I spent about $500 (I have 5 bridesmaids) and same with the groomsmen, the rehearsal dinner will cost us about $3000, my hair and makeup will be about $300, jewelry is about $100, I got silk flowers because our wedding is sweetest day and that cost us $300, the DJ is $500, ceremony at a church is $400, centerpieces are about $300, other decor $500, Limo is $800 for 3 hours, also there is the bar tab at the reception, honeymoon, and I’m sure there is a few other things that I’ve forgotten that we’re paying for. It will be nice that you have extra money to spend, just don’t blow all of it! Also depends on where you live, the cost of everything is different everywhere! Hope I helped you a little bit!!

I’m having a real elegant wedding, and i managed to keep it under $6,000 with about 130 guests. It takes alot of work, but it pays off to keep shopping around.

The average cost for that style of wedding and your numbers will be near to $10000 – that is a lot of money! I know of brides that by being careful can still get their dream wedding for those numbers for about $5000.

Think about what is important to you and where you want to spend it.

Weddings are different for everyone. It all depends on what you want and how much you have in your budget to work with. My wedding cost $50,000 whereas my cousin’s wedding was in the $20,000 range and my roommate from college did her wedding for about $5,000. Have fun planning your wedding and don’t stress out too much, just remember what the real reason is you’re having the wedding….you’re marring your soon-to-be husband! 🙂
