were both from Ireland and are planning on getting married on holiday at christmas
It’s just myself and my partner, were not having any guests, it’s just for the ceremony

You probably are asking about the wedding party, not the registration of the marriage certificate.

The cost of the wedding party depends on how many guests you will have and its location. 100 guests at a nice mid-range hotel in Bangkok would be around 100,000 baht. You can go much higher, of course, by booking it at a 5-star hotel and having many more guests. You can also go cheaper with fewer guests and catered at someone’s home.

On second thought, maybe you are asking about a western style wedding, meaning at a church with a priest and all that. Not sure about costs but there are a number of Catholic churches in Bangkok. The wedding party, i.e. reception, would be the same as I mentioned above.

Only about 7,000 baht each for taxis and translation fees to have all your paperwork completed at the embassy, ministries and local district office.

At the American embassy it was 1700 baht each to register intent to marry (my wife is Thai so only I had to pay). To have the documents translated to Thai was 350 per document or 1400 total. To register at the Ministry of foreign affairs 1700 and 800 for expedited service and to register at the Ampur office was 200 baht tea money. Total 7000 or about 145 Euro. The ceremony is up to you because it has nothing to do with the marriage once you’ve registered, your married.

I’m unsure where you pay 1000 baht for this but I was married last year not in 1976.

Anywhere from 5000 baht (about 150 US dollars) to 2 million baht (about 50,000 US dollars).
The first just to ask someone to arrange a Thai wedding for you without any guest, but with some traditional water pouring ceremony and some offering to monks in the morning.

The two million is the full blown usually done for some general daugther or big bureaucrat son at the Oriental hotel with about 1000 guests, with honeymoon suite, and some honeymoon trip afterward in Italy. (I like Florence).
