maybe for 50-100 guest, not a Church wedding but a Beach wedding. Are Beach weddings popular now (there)?

Hi..I am getting married on Valentines day and having a beach wedding in the Philippines.

They are popular with foreigners here but not so much Filipinos I have found which normally have a church wedding.

It is a great place to have a beach wedding though! I am having an intimate one with around 40 guests on a beach resort on the island Puerto Gallera..all together including every little thing… I mean my wedding dress, shoes, veil (which I designed and had made) and beauty stuff (hair, nails, spray tan, makeup, etc)….my grooms clothing etc….and with mostly seafood at the wedding meal it is costing us around 4,000.00 Australian dollars..(and that includes the six nights at the resort!) We planned it all ourselves but for less hassle free services most of the hotels and resorts on the beach will have a wedding package already which includes everything.

One of these is the Shangrila at Cebu, they have a wedding package for 3,000.00 us dollars which includes everything and you can also fly directly into cebu also which makes it easier for guests but almost of then have them, if not on their websites call them and they will give it to you.

Also costwise if not getting a package you need to be prepared to shop around for your services! As an australian living here in the Philippines I found services tended to go from 6,000 pesos quote on a website to a 15,000 pesos when I contacted them due to tha fact I was a foreigner.

If you need any help or advice on wedding contacts for in the Philippines feel free to email me =)

Normally for that number of guest that would cost you around P200,000 ($4,500) to $5,000. That can be a grand wedding already, if you know where to source out the services and stuff. There’s a lot of nice beaches here in Cebu for your wedding and its one of the primary cities in the country so basically it’s easier for you to get people. Just email me if you need further help or anything out of the blue regarding your planned wedding. Congratulations ahead.

No they’re not popular. Church weddings are most common, and cost an arm and a leg, coz you need umpteen ninangs and ninongs (godmothers & godfathers) and umpteen more friends of the bride all wearing same formal, it’s a good thing to not even consider it.
Civil wedding is usually performed at the city hall by the mayor (that’s the way mine went). Had 3 ninongs and 3 ninangs, immediate family, and a party in a local restaurant afterwards. Not too expensive. Why not do it that way, and a beach party afterwards?

Well, if you’re going to include airfare that would cost you. If not, 200,000 to 250,000. People here are more on to a garden wedding.
