I want to do a candy bar at my reception instead of the regular favors. Has anyone ever done this at their wedding? How much candy did you use and how much did it cost?

We are having one this weekend at my daughters wedding. We purchased 12 containers all the same shape but different sizes and spent a total of $75.00 on them. She is having 85 guests.

Airheads $10.00
Sour patch $10.00
Swedish Fish $20.00
Fruity gum nuggets $15.00
Pixie stix $10.00
Peanut M&M’s $15.00
Hershey’s Kissables $15.00
Starburst Twizzlers $10.00
Smarties $10.00
Jolly Ranchers $15.00
Tootsie Pops $15.00
Skittles $15.00

We also got some cute take out boxes and put thier names & wedding date on them for people to fill.

We also have this cute sign that I made, it says:

Step right up
to our candy buffet
a sweet addition
to a wonderful day..

As you help yourself
to this special treat

I would say the cheapest route would be to go to a whole sale store like Bj’s or Sam’s. If you buy them in bulk I am sure it will save you money.

if you choose to give individuals use the smaller single serving size that you would give to children,

or are you looking for a LARGE CHOCOLATE BAR to share ?
a 10 lb chocolate bar can be custom ordered at rocky mountain chocolate
    factory for around $150

are you talking about a personalized candy bar…like with you and your spouses name on it? which would be totally cute…but i can’t even guesstimate want they would want for that….you could look online, and get a good price i’m sure…but then your chancing on whether it would taste good…i would call your local bakery (that caters to weddings) and get their opinion on such a thing. a 100 people isn’t too many.

    cute idea.

if your meaning a candy ‘bar’ like the above poster…i’ve never seen it done…but that is a totally cute idea too. sounds do-able. go to a bulk food store they always have a lot of candy and get little shovels…how adorable. kind off kilter, but who wants to be on kilter…

    I ordered mine from here
    http://www.beau-coup.com/personalized-hersheys-chocolate.htm

I did the mini hershey’s because they’re cuter and cheaper. For 100 minis, it’s $75.00. I also ordered personalized napkins from this site.

You can also get order the wrappers and do it yourself.
